Sonny and Nina’s journey has been nothing short of a whirlwind. With Nina’s motive to retaliate against Carly’s threat of keeping her grandson away, she kept Sonny isolated from his loved ones in Nixon Falls when she knew he was alive. If only Carly STOPPED ranting on the phone to make Nina get out a word then she would have known right away where Sonny was located.

Historical Context of how long Nina knew of Sonny in Nixon falls because the show always says nine months:
It is worth noting that Sonny was went crashing down on the footbridge on Friday, December 18, 2020, leading to his disappearance and eventual declaration of death. Jason and Carly officially declared Sonny dead on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. It wasn’t until Tuesday, March 23, 2021, that Nina witnessed Sonny being declared dead for the first time at the Tan-O bar in Nixon Falls. Finally, on Friday, September 17, 2021, Sonny’s memories were miraculously restored.

Little did Carly know that her then-husband, who she believed to be dead, was actually alive. A twist of fate occurred when Nina fell deeply in love with Mike, who was revealed to be Sonny himself. And surprisingly, Mike found himself falling for Nina to the extent that he didn’t even desire his original memories back. Their connection thrived in the enchanting bubble of Nixon Falls, particularly at the Tan-O, until tragedy struck and a fire consumed their cherished sanctuary.

When Sonny regained his true identity as Sonny, his emotions only intensified. Sonny could not bring himself to hate Nina or diminish the love he felt for her. The love that blossomed between Sonny “Mike” and Nina remained steadfast. Many doubted their relationship, claiming that once Sonny returned, it would spell the end for Sonny and Nina (#Sona). Yet, it was a shock to everyone when Sonny chose to stay with Nina.

Their love eventually led them down the aisle, where they exchanged heartfelt vows in a breathtaking wedding ceremony. It was a love unlike any they had experienced before. However, their happiness was short-lived as the truth came crashing down. Nina, driven by her anger, reported Carly to the SEC, resulting in the arrest of Carly’s boyfriend, Drew. Sonny was deeply angry because she wanted to have the mother of his children sent to prison. Sonny had already forgiven her for lying about his death to his family, and now she had kept yet another significant secret from him.

A lot of people defense for Nina was that she reported an actual crime but unfortunately that went under deaf ears because she is married to Sonny Corinthos, who is the criminal mobster himself.

Fans were recently given the opportunity to vote on whether they would like to see Sonny and Nina back together. Nearly 70% of the votes were in favor of a reunion. We will see what happens.
