Adam and Sally have certainly had quite a journey, dating back to when he was her boss at Newman Media. Sally still had her scheming streak, but it was equally clear that she wanted Adam, and many fans recognized the chemistry between them. The timing was almost perfect. Chelsea and Adam were seemingly off the table after she poisoned him out of jealousy over Sharon. Adam was still pining for Sharon, but she had made it clear on several occasions that she was committed to her marriage to Rey. Sally entered the picture at a time when some fans were ready to see Adam with someone other than Chelsea or Sharon.

When Adam and Sally finally got together, there was an undeniable spark. For the third time, Adam had found someone he could potentially envision spending the rest of his life with. Perhaps third time really would be the charm?

Unfortunately, Adam eventually left Sally, claiming it was for her own good (he wanted her to keep her job at Newman Media and not be put in his family drama). That decision opened the door for her to become involved with Nick, creating another familiar situation: a woman caught between the Newman brothers. However, that relationship did not last. Sally remained emotionally connected to Adam, eventually cheating on Nick with him. It seemed Adam and Sally were finally on their way to building a successful relationship until tragedy struck. They lost their baby, Ava, while Connor was also experiencing a serious OCD-related health crisis. During this difficult period, Adam and Chelsea slept together.

What made the situation even worse was the dishonesty that followed. Adam was determined to cover up what happened, while Chelsea initially wanted to come clean to Billy. Their reactions highlighted an important difference between the two relationships.

Chelsea and Billy have never received the same level of acceptance from viewers, particularly because of their history. Many fans have struggled to move past the fact that Chelsea drugged Billy to have sex with him, making his repeated reconciliations with her difficult to understand. Billy also became the person who saved Chelsea’s life when she was on the verge of jumping from a rooftop. He became her savior in that moment, which made her betrayal of him particularly painful. Meanwhile, Adam’s actions often came across as less remorseful, with his primary concern seemingly being to keep the affair a secret.

As Billy and Sally struggled with the betrayals of their respective partners, they found comfort in one another. They confided in each other, leaned on each other emotionally and discovered how much they enjoyed spending time together. Initially, their relationship appeared to be a rebound, but over time, it became clear that something deeper was developing. While Adam and Chelsea were working toward another reunion, Billy and Sally were slowly falling in love.

Billy and Sally, often referred to by fans as Silly, were not exactly a relationship that captivated the audience. In fact, some viewers felt the nickname was particularly fitting because they considered the pairing itself rather silly. Nevertheless, head writer Josh Griffith made it clear that this was a couple he believed in and intended to stick with. Viewers were left to watch the relationship unfold, even as Billy repeatedly sabotaged himself, struggled with his priorities and made promises that he did not always follow through on.

Sally even walked away from Billy at different points, but she eventually returned because her feelings were genuine. It became increasingly difficult to dismiss their relationship as a rebound. She was in love with him, and eventually, Billy admitted that he felt the same way.

Their relationship took another major unexpected turn when Sally became pregnant. Billy embraced the news and decided to make their journey even more meaningful by asking Sally Spectra to marry him. Of course, there were still ups and downs, and Adam was far from thrilled when he learned about their engagement. He questioned whether Billy could truly give Sally the stability and happiness she deserved and made his concerns known.

Billy and Sally ultimately had what many would consider the wedding of the year. With the Spectra’s and Abbotts coming together, it felt like a dream come true for Sally. However, even their beautiful celebration came with a dose of Abbott family drama when Billy learned that his mother, Jill Abbott, had suffered a heart attack. Then came another unexpected turn. While Sally was in her hotel room, her water broke, and Adam happened to be there by her side. He ended up delivering the baby himself, bringing a child into the world under circumstances that undoubtedly brought back memories of the baby he and Sally had lost, Ava. In another life, perhaps this could have been their child. But it wasn’t. When Sally gave birth, all she wanted was her husband, Billy, by her side.

In many ways, this was a true full-circle moment. Adam was responsible for taking Billy’s first daughter, Delia, away from him in a hit-and-run accident, although he was unaware of his involvement at the time. However, once he discovered the truth, he covered it up, ultimately sealing Billy’s view of Adam as someone he could never consider a decent human being. Adam and Sally also experienced the heartbreaking loss of their own daughter, making the circumstances even more meaningful. There was something particularly ironic about Adam being the person who helped deliver a baby girl for Billy and Sally. In a way, it felt like the perfect gift for them. While this baby could never replace the daughters they had lost, the circumstances surrounding her arrival made the moment all the more meaningful and brought an unexpected sense of full circle to their stories.

Now, Adam seems to be developing a strong attachment to the baby he helped deliver. While Billy initially viewed Adam as a hero for being there during the birth, that appreciation appears to be wearing thin. He is beginning to grow uncomfortable with Adam’s involvement, and understandably so. After everything that has happened between these four people, the question becomes how much space Adam will continue to occupy in Billy and Sally’s new family.

So who do you want to see Sally Spectra-Abbott with? Do you want her to stay loyal to her husband or do you want her to return to her ex-partner Adam Newman?
